In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
My magazine cover has a big masthead which stands out and is put slightly to the left of the page and is tilted. I have two main images which take up most of the page. I havent included sub headings about things featured in the magazine which some magazine covers would have, so i could change that to make it look more like a magazine.
How does your media product represent particular social groups?
It represents Victoria college by having a large picture of the school and a picture of a pupil.
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
A school would distribute my magazine as its a school magazine so the people that would be reading it would be poeple associated with the school , for example new students and parents.
• Who would be the audience for your media product?
The audience for my magazine would probably be for new students and parents because it is layed out in a way which represents school life.
• How did you attract/address your audience?
I used a bold font which stood out as my masthead, i also made the student the main feature of the magazine cover which made it stand out aswell.
• What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
I have learnt how to use photoshop, by cropping and enhancing my images. The tools which i used were mainly the magnetic lassoo tool, magic wand and changed the colour levels of the photo.

I have taken a picture of a student in medium close up and then cut him out by using the magnetic lassoo tool and feathered it so that he blended in when i pasted him onto my magazine cover.I also changed the opacticty of the student by going into the layers menu. I then used the magic wand tool to delete the background around the picture of the college to leave me with just the picture of the college so i could paste it onto my cover. I used the magnetic lasso tool again to cut out the school badge. I have used a bold font in yellow, as it is the school colours and to make it stand out.

Here is my finished magazine cover and contents page.
The possible target audiences for my magazine would be students , parents and new students and parents.
Here is an example of a student magazine cover, it uses bold colours and looks quite cool which would appeal to students. it also includes the sub heading "sports carnival" which would also be something a student could be interested in.

In comparison this is a football magazine which is targeted towards a different audience, it uses bold colours and big font to attract the reader. The background is a picture of david beckham who would be popular amongst football fans and young boys. I think its effective using red captils for beckham because it makes the magazine stand out.
